-In the Name of God, the Beneficent, the Merciful

Resolutions
It was a cold winter afternoon, Grandfather sat on his favorite rocking chair sipping a warm cup of tea. Zahra walks in with a piece of paper and a puzzled face. Grandfather takes the paper as Zahra sits on his lap.
“Grandfather, today in school our teacher, Sister Tahera told us the new year is coming up and we should think about making a resolution to help us become better Muslims. Sister Tahera said, we shouldn’t try to do too many things at one time. She said by doing too many things at one time, you won’t do such a good job at them. I should just pick one or two things I want to change. Do you have any ideas?”, Zahra asked as she dipped her cookie in his warm tea and ate it.
Grandfather looked at Zahra and said, “Zahra, do you know that Shaytaan just ate with you!”
Zahra’s eyes popped out, “WHAT Shaytaan ate with me?”
“Yes My Dear Zahra. When Allah SWT told Shaytaan to get out of Heaven Shaytan asked Allah, where will I live? Where will I eat? Where will I sleep? Allah SWT replied:
You will live with the person who did not say Bismillah hir Rahman nir Rahim when he or she enters his or her home.You will eat with the person who doesn’t say Bismillah hir Rahman nir Rahim before they start to eat.
You will sleep with the person who doesn’t say Bismillah hir Rahman nir Rahim when they go to sleep.”
Zahra quickly whispered, “Bismillah hir Rahman nir Rahim” and ate the last piece of her cookie. She smiled at Grandfather and hugged him. “Grandfather, that’s my New Year’s Resolution- Before I enter my home, before I eat, and before I sleep I will try to say Bismillah hir Rahman nir Rahim.”
Grandfather helped Zahra write down her new resolution and Zahra has been trying to apply it everyday.
